I’ve come to you to say hello,
To tell you that the sun has risen,
That, with its hot light,
It has begun to flicker through the leaves;

To tell you that the forest has awakened,
Entirely awakened, its every little twig;
Has shuddered to life with every bird,
And is full of springtime thirst;

To tell you that with the very same passion
As yesterday, I’m here again,
That, just as before, my soul remains
Ready to serve happiness, and you;

To tell you that from all directions
I feel a breeze alive with joy upon me,
That I myself don’t know what I will
Sing — but that a song is ripening.
