Sticking with the “sea” theme for now, here’s another more obscure Viktor Tsoi song with an unexpected anti-war twist at the end. The “cold” of the rifle butt could be felt by those struck with it, of course, but I think what he has in mind is the coldness felt by the one about to shoot it, with the butt pressed against his shoulder. In this sense it reminds me of DDT’s famous anti-war song Не стреляй (Don’t Shoot), featured elsewhere on this blog. By the way, the term приклад is related to the verb прикладывать АЙ / приложить И — to “lay up against” — i.e., against your shoulder when firing.
