I thought it was about time I posted some of the most well-known Russian pieces, for those just beginning to explore Russian language and culture. When you think of Russian piano concertos, I think two instantly spring to mind… Tchaikovsky’s 1st and Rakhmaninov’s 2nd, which I’m posting here, played by the rising star Alexander Malofeyev when he was just 15 (I’ve posted him playing a Prokofiev concerto elsewhere).
