Walking the Streets of Moscow

The song below is featured at the very end of the film, as the main characters go their separate ways (at the Университет subway station in Moscow, where Moscow State University is located). Our hero’s light-hearted encounter with the lady at the bottom of the escalator (as a lowly representative of the Soviet power structure) is emblematic of the relaxed political and cultural atmosphere of the “Thaw” period that followed Stalin’s death. I Stroll Around Moscow

Sometimes everything is good in the world,
You can’t understand right away what’s going on.
It’s simply that a summer rain has passed through —

A familiar face flashes in the crowd,
