Mother Teresa

Here’s a song from the 2002 album Иллюзия (Illusion), by the band Мать Тереза (Mother Teresa), another in the long line of post-punk “doomer” acts whose lineage can be traced back to what I call “Viktor Tsoi on a bad day” (for example). By the way, the term “лох” is not мат or anything, so it’s not obscene, though it is a pretty harsh insult; one could translate it as “loser” or maybe “dumbass,” but to me something like “dipshit” is perhaps closer — a dumbass, a sucker, a pathetic piece of shit, etc. You get the idea.

Eternal Dipshit

The eternal dipshit bought an envelope with his last hundred
Sent a letter to New York, to Wall Street
Send me money, I’m begging you; this genocide’ll be the end of me

Eternal dipshit

The eternal dipshit fell from the clouds in the solitude of dreams
Hiding his nothing from others
In the stillness of night he’s calm and quiet

Eternal dipshit
